Winning 3-0 or 3-1 to be able to take the sida to the golden set is tomorrow’s goal, Saturday 5 June, at Volpianese in the B2 playoff final against Caselle. Appointment at the Pala Unita d’Italia at 9 pm. After the 3-1 knockout in the first leg, in fact, the team of coach Stefano Andreotti must equalize the points calculation in the double confrontation, to then play for the promotion to B1 to the golden set. This is the formula already used in the volleyball Champions League which provides for an additional set of up to 15 points (the equivalent of a tie break). Up for grabs a place in Serie B1.

Volpianese is waiting for an undertaking that is anything but easy, as coach Andreotti also explains: «We have to win against a very strong opponent who has already shown during the first phase that she is equipped for the jump in the category. We will have to play with the awareness that we will not have to make a mistake in all the fundamentals – says Andreotti -. The head must only go to the match, knowing full well that even in the event of a defeat we will still have another chance to be promoted to B1 in the same way ».

In fact, remember that the losers will play another playoff: Saturday 12 and 19 June. At the end of this phase, the twelve losing formations will form a separate ranking and will face each other in a further round, with the rules that will be the same as in this playoff phase: in the double confrontation, only the points collected in the two races will count and in case of a tie we will proceed to the golden set. Of this ranking the first will face the twelfth, the second the ninth, the third the eighth, the fourth the seventh and the fifth classified the sixth, with the possibility of also fishing a formation from Sicily.

«Our intention – adds Andreotti – is however to try to avoid this situation and the only way to do it is to reverse the situation a week ago in Caselle. As for the formation, we have almost completely recovered Ivaldi in the dribble, as well as the condition of both Vietti, the other dribbler, and Ghibaudo in the center, are slowly improving and could be from the game, or from the beginning or even just for one piece. On the other hand, Volpianese will not be lacking the will to try the company to the last: we will have to have courage, strength and determination, playing with aggression and maximum concentration from all points of view – comments the Volpianese coach – not leaving no stone unturned. Give everything on the pitch and then in the end we will sum it up, Caselle will have to deserve to land in B1, this is the concept that I also expressed to the team. We are ready to play a great match – explains Andreotti – we know that the difficulties, compared to the previous rounds of the playoffs, will increase, but this must serve us as a further stimulus to accomplish something extraordinary ». –
