The Paris National Swimming Championships are about to begin

Xinhua News Agency, Shenzhen, April 18 (Reporters Wang Haoming and Zhou Xin) – The highly anticipated 2024 National Swimming Championships are set to kick off at the Shenzhen Universiade Center Natatorium from the 19th to the 27th of April. This prestigious event will serve as a crucial selection criterion for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

This competition marks the final showdown for Chinese swimmers before they set off for the Olympics. A star-studded lineup including Zhang Yufei, Qin Haiyang, Wang Shun, Ye Shiwen, Xu Jiayu, Pan Zhanle, Li Bingjie, and other renowned swimmers will be showcasing their skills and determination.

With 35 events scheduled to take place over nine intense competition days, the National Swimming Championships will closely follow the swimming competition schedule of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Each race promises to be a thrilling display of speed, skill, and strategy as athletes vie for success.

According to the “2024 Paris Olympics Swimming Event Selection Methods” released by the Swimming Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, the results of the contestants in this event will be compared with the top eight final results of each individual event from the 2023 Fukuoka World Championships and the 2024 Doha World Championships. These results will play a pivotal role in determining the composition of the Chinese team for the Paris Olympics, making the National Swimming Championships a crucial stepping stone towards Olympic glory.
