Thirteen years of absence, thirteen years of nostalgia. Now the wait is about to end: the Rally Colli Trevigiani, the race born in 1993 and abandoned in 2009, has been reinserted in the Aci Sport calendar for the beginning of next March, as per tradition. Merit of D-Events, the association chaired by Giacomo Fumei who has decided to organize its second race after the Rally della Marca scheduled for next July and which should once again be part of the Ciwrc (which from next year could be call Italian asphalt rally championship). If the organizers’ projects turn into reality (and everything suggests that it will), the race should follow the pattern seen in the last editions: tests on Monte Tomba, Mostaccin and Montello, which would once again host racing cars. It would be a celebration for fans and drivers who felt the lack of a very fast and demanding special stage.

Thus, the rallies organized in the Marca after the Prealpi Master Show (scheduled for 12 December in Sernaglia) and the Rally della Marca in July rise to three: “We are organizing a national rally, but of quality: we must check whether it will be possible to re-enter the three historical proofs of Mostaccin, Tomba and Montello, but we are working hard », assures Fumei. This year the Colli Trevigiani will be a race without any specific validity, but the organizers’ plans are clear and ambitious: “In the future we would like to include the race in the local Rally Cup, in order to have the Marca as the most important rally and the Colli just behind, ”Fumei continues. The last reservation has not yet been dissolved, but it is highly probable that the headquarters will be kept in Cavaso del Tomba, the village where Giandomenico Basso, vice president of the association and current Italian champion, lives.

The brand thus regains possession of a historic race, which for years has made the passion for racing flourish in one of the territories that has seen them born and grow over the decades. In the 1990s and 2000s, the Trevigiani Hills recorded record editions every year with hordes of almost 150 crews ready to go wild on the Treviso roads. The 2005 edition is unforgettable (when it was still called the Montebelluna Rally), a race with snow on the side of the road and ice covering entire parts of asphalt, but in general the race has always been characterized by duels at the last second: the he last edition, that of 2009, was won by Alessandro Bruschetta from Montebelluna with a 22 “advantage over Claudio De Cecco from Friuli and 24” over the third, the Venetian Emanuele Zecchin. –
