Two 11-year-old girls have been injured and remain admitted to the ICU of the Maternal and Child Hospital after an explosion that occurred this afternoon at the San Fernando Institute, in Badajoz. The minors have serious burns on their faces.

The events took place in the center’s laboratory, located in the new classroom, where a accident with chemical materials. According to teachers at the center, alcohol has been spilled on the students.

The center has been evacuated and firefighters and local police were working in the area.

The classroom has not suffered material damage.
