Lenovo’s Latest ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid Mixes Android Touch Interface and Windows Computer Interface

Lenovo has announced its latest ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid, which combines the Android touch interface with the Windows computer interface. This hybrid device functions as an ordinary Windows laptop when in laptop mode, but when the display is removed, it transforms into an Android tablet.

The Windows part of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a 75WHr battery. The top half features a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of flash memory, and a 38WHr battery. Additionally, both sections share the same 14-inch 2.8K OLED display.

Lenovo also showcased its next-generation ThinkBook 16p, a 16-inch laptop equipped with a 14th generation Intel processor (up to i9) and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. The laptop features a series of magnets and pogo pins on the back, which Lenovo refers to as Magic Bay. Users can install accessories on the laptop, including a new 4K lens launched this year called the Lenovo Magic Bay Studio.

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid is expected to ship in the second quarter of this year, with a starting price of approximately US$1,999 (approximately HK$15,610). The ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 will go on sale later this quarter, starting at US$1,599 (approximately HK$12,486), and the Lenovo Magic Bay Studio will be launched in April, with prices starting at US$199.99 (approximately HK$1,562).
