Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Now Available in VR Thanks to Unofficial Mod
After years of anticipation, World of Warcraft fans can now experience the vast online role-playing game in virtual reality, thanks to a new unofficial mod created by the Flat2VR Group duo Streetrat and Marculu. The mod allows players to immerse themselves in the world of Azeroth like never before, breaking down the boundaries between player and game.
The mod, which currently only works in patch 3.3.5a (the last patch released for Wrath of the Lich King), offers players the ability to play in both first-person and third-person perspectives, giving them a unique view of the landscape of Azeroth through their character’s eyes. Additionally, the mod supports motion control and a VR-friendly user interface, creating a more immersive gaming experience for those who want to take their gameplay to the next level.
While the mod does have its limitations and the creators have stated that there are no plans for further development at this time, it still offers a unique opportunity for World of Warcraft players to explore the game in a whole new way.
