Nintendo Announces Release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Switch

Nintendo has announced the release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Switch today. This game is a remake of the 2004 Gameboy Advance game and incorporates elements of 2D horizontal action and puzzle solving.

In the original version of the game, Bowser, the Dragon King, was the main enemy. However, in the remake, Donkey Kong, his old rival from the “water pipe” era, takes on that role. The new version also includes the original version and 2 new worlds, with a total of more than 130 stages.

Reporters who have played the game note that it is heavy on puzzle elements, requiring players to solve various puzzles to progress through the game. The gameplay focuses more on puzzle-solving than traditional 2D Mario games, offering a new and challenging experience for players.

One unique feature of Mario vs. Donkey Kong is the collectible Mini Mario helper versions. These mini Marios have various action characteristics, providing players with different ways to progress through the game. They can jump, form platforms, and follow Mario as he moves through each level.

The game also offers two different modes – “classic mode,” based on the original GBA version, and “casual mode,” which has no time limit and allows players to restart at the last checkpoint after losing. This makes the game accessible for novices and those who prefer to take their time to solve puzzles.

The physical and downloadable versions of Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Switch are currently on sale for HK$359. Players can immerse themselves in the nostalgic yet fresh experience of this beloved classic on their Nintendo Switch.
