During Covid there was enormous demand and at the same time there were sometimes delivery bottlenecks. Now the warehouses of many sports retailers are full of bikes, forcing many to sell off stock. Consumers have the opportunity to get a branded bicycle cheaper than ever before.
A surplus of bikes
Because so many Austrians wanted to buy a new bike in 2022 and 2023, many retailers ordered goods that they now seem to be stuck with. The slow delivery is due to the delayed delivery, because by the time the bikes arrived, most of the demand had already been met.
