Here, this year’s winning team of “71 degrees north – team” is named. Watch the video:

In the last two months, four celebrity duos have fought for first place in “71 degrees north – Team”. It was hard and brutal until the very end in Sunday’s final, where a winning team was finally named.

After several tough stages and physical stresses, it was the married couple Linnéa Myhre (33) and Emil Gukild (32), and the brothers Martin Johnsrud Sundby (39) and Sondre Sundby (33) who fought for first place.

This year, the reality competition was to be decided on Kjerringøy outside Bodø. In the decisive stage, the two teams had to go through a demanding obstacle course with both elements in water and on land, and in familiar style a map task.

In the end, it was a puzzle that decided the competition, and the Sundby brothers were close to victory. But when it came to concentration, it was Gukild and Myhre who were the fastest, and could celebrate the victory.

Thanks Escape Room

Gukild and Myhre gave each other a good hug when they realized they were the winners of the reality show, and presenter Tom Stiansen (52) declared them first place.

– It was a completely sick experience, and completely raw to feel together, says Gukild to Nettavisen.

Gukild, on the other hand, reveals that he and his wife can thank a chance trip for their victory.

– We were at the Escape Room once where there was a similar sliding and puzzle game that I tried to solve, but I had no chance. Linnéa, on the other hand, solved it in a minute, says Gukild and continues:

– So when we get to the sliding game, I just say to Linnea: “You do this”. Then I stand and cheer, and then she continues, but doesn’t see that she has solved it, and then I can only move two pieces. And then it’s done.

However, Gukild thought it was kind of funny. In previous stages, it has been typical that Myhre has to ask him to solve such tasks, but according to the 32-year-old, it was obvious that his wife should solve the last task.

Myhre also does not hide that it was fun to take the victory in “71 degrees north – team”.

– It was completely unreal to win. I hardly believed it, it was a chaotic and stressful final and we were exhausted both physically and mentally. So when it dawned on us, there were a lot of emotions at once, says Myhre to Nettavisen.

– It was completely wrong

In contrast to last year’s roar of victory, which ended with a very expensive bill for TVNorge, Gukild and Myhre were apparently nonchalant when they were declared the winners of “71 degrees north – team”.

The production even had to ask the married couple to cheer and open champagne, but it must have felt completely wrong for Gukild and Myhre, who went completely blank when they were named winners.

– It was completely wrong to be so happy and stand there cheering in the face of someone who is so disappointed. Martin and Sondre have won so many stages, and we have become so fond of them. They are such cool people and great competitors. And then it turned out like that, explains Gukild.

Myhre even broke down in tears because she felt guilty about the Sundby brothers. She knew how much they wanted to win.

– I think I am mostly in shock, followed by being very happy and moved. I’m not one to celebrate that often with my hands over my head, and hate it when others do. In addition, I was not keen to rub it in to Sondre and Martin, who I knew really wanted to win, says Myhre.

– Fortunately, Sondre comes with some comforting words that there is no one who has worked harder than Linnéa, and that’s not it either, says Gukild proudly of his wife.

Won with a broken foot

After the participation, it turned out that Myhre has struggled through almost the entire recording with a broken foot.

On day 5 of 25 recording days, Myhre injured himself during a stage. The medical team in the production concluded at the time that she had stepped over, and that she herself should be allowed to decide whether she wants to continue or withdraw.

– Then we assumed that what the production said was true, and Linnéa completes her participation, says Gukild, who points out that the production does not have access to an X-ray machine on tour.

Myhre says that she was bothered by her foot during the rest of the participation, and that it was particularly challenging during climbing and running.

– In the final we got to run, and then I felt like I was running with a leg sticking out from under my foot. But it’s strange what painkillers and adrenaline can do, points out Myhre.

The pain Myhre has had in his foot throughout the recording in September, however, proved not to subside after returning home. In January, however, she took an MRI and was told that she had a fracture in her foot that originated from the recording.

– I wasn’t exactly surprised, as the foot had hurt for many months and was only getting worse. I was more relieved to have been proven, and it made me pat myself on the back an extra time for completing “71 degrees north – team”, says Myhre.

– That is, she went two to three months with a broken foot, and only started to take action in January, so it was intense, says Gukild.

As a result of the breach, Myhre was banned from running and jumping for two months, and exercises that she had to do every day to train it up. Fortunately, it was broken in a place where neither crutches nor plaster were needed.

– Have you had any permanent injuries?

– I notice that my foot is not what it used to be, but I have gradually been allowed to start running again, so now I am looking forward to the future. And taking the experience with me – now I know the difference between overstepping and breaking.

They must do this with the prize

Not only did the married couple secure the victory of “71 degrees north – team”, they could also adorn themselves with a valuable prize. With the victory, both received a three-year private lease agreement of a Toyota bZ4X to a value of NOK 450,000.

But the couple have no plans to keep it.

– We don’t have a car, but we don’t need a car either. So we will probably ask if it is possible to get the money, or the value of the car instead, says Gukild with a laugh and continues:

– And at least we don’t need two leasing agreements. We live in the center of Oslo and we take the subway, bus, tram, cycle and walk to our daily activities.

When asked if the married couple have anything else they would like to spend any money on, Gukild replies as follows:

– I don’t have a good answer to that. We’ll see what they say first and if it’s possible. If not, we’ll be standing there with two cars, he laughs.
