Afghanistan, Unicef: “We stay. Ten million children need assistance”

“We have been working in Afghanistan for 65 years. We have never left and we have no intention of doing so now, ”the voice of Mustapha Ben Messaoud, head of UNICEF’s field operations and emergency, is clear and determined. He screams every word and raises his tone when he says his staff will stay in the country “until we achieve our goals”, such as eliminating child malnutrition, ensuring survival and education for Afghan children.
