Sister Nelly León Correa, a determined nun from the congregation of the Good Shepherd, created the foundation “Mujer, Levántate”, that is “Woman, arise”, to offer a second chance to imprisoned women and their children, with their stories of poverty and abuse. Twenty-five years of commitment to help them put the pieces of their lives back together and return to living with dignity, in a country with a troubled past and still hostage to profound inequalities.
