FERCAM A partnership has been launched with the ITS Academy Last of Verona to train new logistics experts – companies

FERCAM and ITS Academy Last of Verona have started a partnership based on an innovative project work that focuses on the practical training of students on eco-compatible transport technologies.

The meeting held yesterday in Sommacampagna focused on the evaluation of the design work entrusted to the students (of the International Logistics Management Higher Technician and Expert Higher Technician courses in endothermic, hybrid and electric vehicles), which through the study of realistic scenarios faced daily by FERCAM, have developed an ad hoc tool for the comparison between different alternative traction vehicles and traditional diesel vehicles; this tool also allows the environmental feasibility as well as the operational efficiency and economic impact of any conversions to be assessed.

This analytical tool, based on various operational and environmental parameters, such as the type of fuel (hydrogen, biomethane, methane, electric), load weight and distance travelled, is able to provide a detailed assessment of operating costs, emissions of CO2 and the overall efficiency of different vehicle options, thus supporting informed decisions towards the green transition in the transport sector.

The collaboration between FERCAM and ITS highlights a shared commitment to innovation and practical training, crucial for preparing tomorrow’s professionals for the challenges of the logistics sector. Through this joint work, FERCAM actively contributes to the training of a new generation of logistics experts, ready to navigate and shape the future of freight transport.

Daimler Truck Italia’s support for the event made it possible to enrich the students’ educational experience, offering them a direct overview of the latest technologies and vehicles that could lead the future of sustainable transport. In fact, there were two vehicles, one electric and one latest generation diesel, powered by HVO, of which expert Daimler trainers revealed the technological secrets to the students.
