Gaffe by the Lebanese prime minister Najib Mikati in Beirut during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Republic of Lebanon, Giorgia Meloni. Upon the Prime Minister’s arrival at the airport, Mikati “mistaken” her secretary, Patria Scurti, for Meloni, welcoming her with kisses and hugs.
Scurti, a historic collaborator of the Fratelli d’Italia leader, immediately reported the mistake and so, shortly afterwards Mikati approached the plane again, welcoming the “real” Meloni again with handshakes and kisses.
