Hospital in Harstad sets up crisis management – roof parts detached from the roof
The University Hospital of Northern Norway in Harstad is on yellow alert after parts of the roof have come loose and are blocking off the helicopter landing pad.
– There are building materials everywhere near the hospital, and there is a lot of rubbish in the streets, says NRK’s reporter Henrik Einangshaug.
Parts of the roof have come loose from the hospital in connection with ongoing storms.
Local crisis management has been set up to monitor the situation, the University Hospital warns.
No one should be injured in connection with the incident. The population is encouraged, by UNN Harstad, not to stay outside around the hospital.
A patient says to NRK that ackplates are strewn around a large area at the hospital:
– Large plates flew past my window on the 5th floor, and ceiling plates are strewn around a large area, and we have all been told to keep calm inside the hospital for the time being, says the patient to NRK.
For patients who have appointments at UNN Harstad for the rest of the day, these have been cancelled, the hospital reports.
Emergency preparedness is taken care of and anyone in need of immediate help must call 113 as usual.
