In the car in front of me… singer Henry Valentino died at the age of 95

Pop star “accidentally”

Actually, everything was supposed to turn out completely differently, because Hans Blum was a composer. But when he couldn’t quite get a track sold to a record company in the mid-1970s, he decided to become a pop star himself.

He didn’t really want to be famous, as he always said later – and yet he became one. Of all people, as Henry Valentino with a glued-on beard and together with duet partner Uschi, who added the perspective of the “young girl” to the hit song.

In 1977 it was a hit that was above all fun, exuded a certain looseness (“Rada rada radadadada, rada rada radadadada”) and worked at every party – today it would probably be different in view of this “chase”…

Lifelong love with Intrauterine couple

The real Hans Blum was happy with his wife Ingetraut – almost his entire life.

The two fell in love when they were both part of the so-called Hansen Quartet in the 1950s.

Ingetraut died a few years before her husband; together they had three children and five grandchildren.

What hardly anyone knows: He also wrote these hits!

The list of pop singers for whom Hans Blum wrote hits in the background is long: including “Gypsy Boy” by Alexandra, “The Beautiful Girl from Page One” by Howard Carpendale and “The Old Wolf” by Hildegard Knef.

His songs were also entered into the competition several times at the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson.
