The statement said that two Greek ships were seized for illegal acts, and Iran is investigating the matter and will take necessary legal actions after completing relevant investigations and legal documents.

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Khatibzad stated that the relationship between Iran and Greece has always been based on mutual respect, and the relationship between the two countries should not be damaged by the “serious short-sightedness” of a third party, nor should the first The “robbery” requested by the three parties.

On May 27, local time, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards issued a statement saying that due to violation of relevant laws, the Revolutionary Guards detained two Greek oil tankers in the waters of the Persian Gulf that day.

On the 25th of this month, the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization issued a statement saying that an Iranian-flagged oil tanker had a technical failure near the Greek waters. After asking the Greek government for help, it was interfered by the US government. A Greek court then issued an interception order and dispatched military personnel to forcibly unload the tanker’s cargo. Iranian officials have confirmed that Greece intends to ship the seized oil to the United States. Iran condemned that the Iranian tanker had legal transportation procedures and that Greece’s actions were “piracy” and violated international law and must be corrected immediately.
