After winning both Friday’s sprint and Saturday’s 10 kilometers, Klæbo crowned the season with victory in the 20 kilometer freestyle.

Trønder has rarely shown good form at the end of the season. On Sunday, in the seventh race in a row, the competitors had to see the Norwegian cross the finish line first.

At the same time, Harald Østberg Amundsen held off in the summary of the World Cup overall and secured the first crystal ball of his career. The 25-year-old has had to see the lead down to Klæbo shrink with each race in the run-up to the season.

Amundsen collected 24 points during the race in the two bonus sprints, and even then he was assured of the overall victory. At the finish line, he finished number 17.

Saturday’s snowy weather was replaced by sunshine and Easter weather on Sunday. The pace at the front was also reminiscent of an Easter ride at times, but it still gradually thinned out in the tight group during the first laps.

Iver Tildheim Andersen increased the pace with around three kilometers to go. The peloton was reduced to six men, but the field regrouped in the last kilometer.

Towards the race, Klæbo secured first position. When it had to be decided, he was, as so often before, the fastest. Gjøran Tefre delivered a good sprint and was second. Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget was third over the finish line.
