The relationship between Martin Ødegaard and Helene Spilling has received massive attention since the two appeared at the London Football Awards together in March last year.
Since then, the duo has been seen on each other’s social media at regular intervals, but the couple has been careful not to comment on the relationship in the media.
Now the Arsenal star opens up about the relationship in The NRK series “The Dream of the EC”. There he praises his girlfriend, who can also be seen in several clips. Among other things, the cameras are with the Emirates Stadium in London.
– I feel life has gotten a few notches better, so it’s nice to have someone to share everything that happens with. Having someone there who knows you well, who knows how to enjoy the good experiences and helps you up when things go badly, says Ødegaard about Spilling, before adding:
– I think it is positive in my life.
Arsenal success
Ødegaard has played big in Arsenal in recent years and has the captain’s armband both there and in the national team. He has consistently stood out as a type of leader in the Premier League club, something that several have noticed. When asked if Spilling is to blame for him becoming “more of a man on the pitch”, he answers with a laugh:
– I don’t know if Helene should take all the credit for that, but she has certainly had a good effect on both my life and my career.
The NRK series follows several national team players through the EC qualification, both on the pitch and privately. The first episodes will be available on March 14.

– When they started talking on the first night there, I got a live update on every message that was sent. There was a good atmosphere from the first stanza. Helene and “Ødda” are a nice couple, says Strandberg, who has now retired as a footballer.
