LATAM Airline to Increase Flight Frequencies to Cuba in April

LATAM airline has confirmed that it will be increasing its flight frequencies to Cuba starting in April. This news comes as a surprise following the recent decision by Aerolíneas Argentinas to cancel its trips to the island due to notable losses. LATAM, on the other hand, has announced its plans to expand its trips to Cuba and connect the island with several destinations in South America and the Caribbean.

The new frequency will include a flight on Saturdays, in addition to the arrivals that the airline already has to Havana on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. All flights will arrive from the Lima International Airport in Peru.

LATAM previously resumed its flights between Peru and Cuba on October 29, after a three-year interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The airline operates Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft with a capacity of 138 passengers on the route between Lima and Havana, providing a total advantage for LATAM customers and those trying its options for the first time. The route also facilitates Cuba’s connectivity with other countries in the region.

LATAM, the largest Chilean-Brazilian airline in Latin America, operates flights on several continents. The flights between Lima and Havana last around five hours, with departures from Lima scheduled for 9:15 in the morning local time, arriving in Havana at 2:15 in the afternoon local time. Return flights from José Martí International Airport depart at 4:15 in the afternoon, with arrival in Lima scheduled for approximately 9:40 p.m.
