New Money Exchange at BI for Eid 2024: Schedule to Procedures

Bank Indonesia (BI) is holding the SERAMBI (Vibrant Ramadan Rupiah and Eid Al-Fitr Blessing) program to meet the increasing public need for Rupiah fit for circulation on National Religious Holidays (HBKN).

The public can now exchange Rupiah currency for Eid 2024. Below is information on the schedule and procedures new money exchange at BI for Eid 2024.

Bank Indonesia (BI) is holding a Rupiah money exchange program or exchanging new money for the momentum of Eid al-Fitr 2024. Quoted from Bank Indonesia’s Instagram post (@bank_indonesia), the following is the Jabodebek cash service schedule for exchanging new money for Eid 2024.

New Money Exchange Conditions at BI Eid 2024

BI has set a maximum amount of Rupiah exchange for Eid 2024 of IDR 4 million. The following are the new money exchange conditions at BI for the Eid 2024 momentum.

1. Rupiah Money Exchange Package

• The maximum amount for exchanging Rupiah is IDR 4 million
• Additional services include exchanging UPK75RI and accepting exchange using coins at the Integrated Mobile Cash

2. Conversion Mechanism

• The public registers and determines the exchange location using the Rupiah Exchange and Withdrawal Application (PINTAR) on the site https://pintar.bi.go.id/
• Providing go-show services for people who have not registered at PINTAR can be done as long as quotas are still available.

3. BI Mobile Cash Service Exchange Package IDR 4,000,000 (maximum exchange amount):

• Fraction: 50,000
  Billets: 20
  Nominal: 1.000.000
• Fraction: 20.000
  Billets: 50
  Nominal: 1.000.000
• Fraction: 10.000
  Billets: 100
  Nominal: 1.000.000
• Fraction: 5.000
  Billets: 100
  Nominal: 500.000
• Fraction: 2.000
  Billets: 200

Procedures for Exchanging New Money at BI Eid 2024

Below is complete information on the procedures new money exchange at BI Eid 2024:

1. Orders by the Community:

• Orders are made using NIK-KTP
• The NIK-KTP that has been used to make an exchange order for Rupiah currency with the status of waiting for the exchange to take place, cannot be used again to make an exchange order until after the exchange day.
• Proof of the exchange order will be sent via e-mail, or can be downloaded directly when the person has finished filling in the order data
• Orders can be made as long as the exchange quota is available.

2. Conversion by Society:

• Exchanges can only be made on the date, location and time stated on the proof of order
• Exchangers are required to bring their KTP and proof of order to exchange Rupiah money via mobile cashier in digital/printed form which is accompanied by a QR Code
• People who want to exchange Rupiah currency must first sort and package the Rupiah currency being exchanged by:
  a. Rupiah currency is sorted according to denomination type and year of issue, and arranged unidirectionally
  b. Do not use tape, adhesive, duct tape, or staples to group or join.

3. Order via PINTAR:

• The public can order Rupiah money exchange packages at SERAMBI 2024 via the PINTAR website (https://pintar.bi.go.id/)
• Click on the ‘Rupiah Currency Exchange via Mobile Cash’ menu
• Then, select the Province as the location to make the exchange
• After that, select the desired location and time for the exchange
• Then, click ‘Continue’
• Enter ordering data on the PINTAR website and click ‘Continue’
• Furthermore, customers can choose the denomination available at SERAMBI 2024, with a maximum total of IDR 4,000,000 and UPK75 exchange is also available
• After completing the order, the PINTAR site will display the order code (can be a QR Code)
• The order code and original KTP are then shown to the mobile cash officer for verification when exchanging Rupiah currency.
