J2 Nagasaki defeats J1 Iwata! Last year’s champion Fukuoka wins the penalty shootout and advances to the 3rd round[Summary: Levain Cup 1st round 2nd round]

Nagasaki played against Iwata and won 1-0, advancing to the third round.

The second round of the J League YBC Levain Cup was held on the 17th with 11 games, and the J1 teams came out victorious.

Fukuoka, aiming for a consecutive victory, will play away against Matsumoto. It was a tough game, allowing the team to take the lead in the 42nd minute, but Seiya Inoue scored the equalizing goal in the 73rd minute. After 90 minutes ended at 1-1, the score remained unchanged even in extra time, leaving the outcome of the match to a penalty shootout. Fukuoka made it 4-2 and advanced to the third round, despite the struggles.

Cerezo Osaka faced Iwate away, and substitute Vitor Bueno scored the winning goal in the 67th minute, winning 1-0. Niigata defeated Iwaki 2-0 with goals from Takumi Hasegawa and Kaito Taniguchi.

Kashima, who faced Hachinohe away, conceded the lead in the 25th minute, but Koki Anzai scored the equalizing goal in the 82nd minute, and Kei Chinen scored the winning goal in the 108th minute of the second half of extra time with the score 1-1. They came from behind to win 2-1.

Nagoya easily defeated J3 leader Omiya 2-0 thanks to Patrick’s two goals. FC Tokyo defeated YS Yokohama 4-0 thanks to Tsuyoshi Ogashiwa’s goal.

Sapporo played away against Numazu and won 3-1 with Yuki Kobayashi scoring two goals. Machida took the lead in the 49th minute with a goal from Vasquez and Byron, and although they were once caught up, Takuya Yasui scored the winning goal in the 80th minute, giving them a 2-1 victory over Kitakyushu.

Tokyo V defended Takehide Yamamoto’s goal in the 45th minute and won 1-0 against Kagoshima. Kobe was trailing 1-1 in the 96th minute of the first half of extra time, when Daiki Sasaki scored the winning goal, defeating Imabari 2-1.

While the J1 teams continued to win, the only team that suffered an upset was Nagasaki, which played against Iwata. Kazunori Kushibiki scored the opening goal in the 53rd minute after a scoreless game. This one point was the deciding point, and they advanced to the third round with a score of 1-0.
