Pastor’s sermon video case Gilbert Lumoindong, which went viral on social media, is still continuing. Now Pastor Gilbert has been reported to Polda Metro Jaya.
This report was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi. Pastor Gilbert was arrested for alleged religious blasphemy.
“That’s right. The report was received on April 16 2024 regarding alleged religious blasphemy,” said Ade Ary Syam Indradi to journalists, Wednesday (17/4/2024).

Currently the police are still study existing reports. This case is now being handled by the Sub-Directorate for State Security (Kamneg) of the Criminal Investigation Department of Polda Metro Jaya.
“Handled by the Sub-Directorate for Crime and Crime Affairs,” he added.
Contacted separately, Gilbert Lumoindang did not comment much on the report against him. However, he again apologized for his remarks.
“Statement me: once again we express our apologies, to the people who were hurt and hurt, God willing, the future will be better,” said Gilbert.
Pastor Gilbert’s Apology
Previously, Pastor Gilbert met with the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia and Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), Jusuf Kalla (JK), after the video went viral. He provided clarification and apology.
“Yes, for me, why I chose Mr. JK, there are three reasons. First, Mr. JK is a senior person in this nation and has held many positions, meaning he is experienced and not only experienced, but he is also someone who is recognized as a quote and “quote Muslim leader. In this case, he is also the leader of the Mosque Council. That is the first, because I know that many things are circulating in mosques,” said Gilbert at JK’s residence in the South Jakarta area, Monday (15/4).
Second, for Gilbert, JK can be called man of peace. Gilbert believes that JK has reconciled many situations in Indonesia.
“And thirdly, he is definitely a fun person, there are lots of people, the higher the position the more difficult it is to find him, sometimes people say it’s easier to look for God than to look for him, right? But Mr. JK is someone who is ready to do anything for the nation and state,” he explained.
“Basically, for the nation and state, especially for the sake of peace, it can be easy to find that. In this case, yesterday we discussed, we asked for time, in the midst of his busy schedule he immediately took the time today because for him the nation and state and peace are always important,” Gilbert continued.
For information, Gilbert’s video talking about 2.5 percent and comparing it with tithing went viral on social media. In the video, Gilbert also talks about the Muslim prayer movement and compares it with the movement when Christians worship in church.
