Ericsson has launched a new product that allows operators to capitalize at scale on the variety and quantity of value-added use cases that are possible thanks to 5G and 5G Standalone (SA).
Ericsson Service Orchestration and Assurance offers operators the tools necessary to orchestrate and manage services across multiple network domains in hybrid IT environments, in which technologies from different suppliers are used. Ericsson Service Orchestration and Assurance is the central core of the new Ericsson Dynamic Network Slicing solution, also announced today, which helps make 5G network slicing fully operational, accelerating value creation and reducing deployment risks. This solution brings with it new associated services that will support end-to-end service orchestration and assurance, across Radio Access Networks (RANs) and Core Networks.
A recent investigation of TM Forum found that 85% of operators surveyed are considering or planning measures to simplify service orchestration and control, so as to achieve greater integration, leaner processes and continuous automation.
Ericsson to date has already completed 32 progetti Proof of Concepyou closed 18 commercial contracts, working with operators around the world to help them evolve their service orchestration and control capabilities. The positive results obtained in the various projects clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the new offer for this purpose.
The low latency, greater bandwidth and all the other characteristics linked to the provision of services based on differentiated connectivity that 5G makes possible require OSS/BSS support systems evolved.
