Silencing Verona, Bologna enters the top 4 of the Serie A standings

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Bologna has successfully penetrated the top four of the Serie A standings or the Champions League zone. The team nicknamed I Rossoblu or Red-Blue defeated the Hellas Verona team with a score of 2-0 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium on Saturday (24/2/2024) early morning WIB.

Entering week 26, Bologna now has 48 points, three points ahead of fifth-placed Atalanta. Bologna has completed 26 league matches, while Atalanta, who dropped to fifth position, has only played 24 matches. But the opportunity for the team nicknamed La Dea to return to the Champions League zone is still open.

Bologna is four points adrift of AC Milan in third place, who will host Atalanta on Sunday (25/2/2024).

In the first half, it was Giovanni Fabbian who successfully scored with a close-range shot to put Bologna ahead in the 27th minute after a corner kick, a goal approved after a VAR review. Bologna took a 1-0 lead and held on until the end of the first half.

In the second half, midfielder Remo Freuler got his name on the scoreboard, in the 65th minute he scored his first goal for Bologna to make it 2-0.

Bologna extended their winning streak in Serie A to five matches, while Verona never had a good chance to score. The score 2-0 in Bologna’s favor lasted until the final whistle sounded.
