His “Crime Scene: Your Loss” is the investigator’s 57th case. But what do we know about his 63-year-old actor? Is the man privately single like his character? What drives him? Does he approach aging as self-deprecatingly as his character Moritz Eisner? And will Harald Krassnitzer, like many veteran “crime scene” investigators currently, stop soon?
What was it about?
After Moritz Eisner’s excessively celebrated 60th birthday in his apartment, the Viennese inspector experienced a total breakdown. The next morning, colleague Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) had to go alone to the crime scene in one of Vienna’s most famous nightclubs.
Its owner, Otto Hübner, was shot. The suspicion of murder quickly fell on Hübner’s business partner (Eidin Seyed Jalali), but then forensics found something irritating: Moritz Eisner’s DNA at the crime scene.
A surveillance camera also recorded that a man who looked extremely similar to Eisner left the disco shortly after the suspected time of the crime. Was it possible that Eisner became a murderer by tearing the film? Or did someone here want to destroy his life – on his anniversary?
What was it really about?
There was more than a little “finchering” in the Viennese “crime scene”. Because as with David Fincher (“Gone Girl”, “Seven”), probably the greatest living thriller director and legitimate successor to Alfred Hitchcock, a complicated larger-than-life revenge plot was unfolded in which you only find out at the end A strong twist learned that Eisner’s best friend and platonic “partner” Bibi Fellner was actually the target for revenge.

Who is Moritz Eisner?
For twelve years he was one of the format’s few solo investigators. But since his 24th case on March 6, 2011 (“Crime Scene: Retaliation”), Moritz Eisner has been working with Bibi Fellner, portrayed by Adele Neuhauser. Unlike in Germany, the ranks of the Austrian police sound more like the military: Eisner is a lieutenant colonel, while Fellner holds the (lower) rank of major.
Moritz Eisner was never a family man. He only finds out that he has a daughter – with a vacation acquaintance – after she suddenly shows up at his door in her teens. As in the current case, Eisner’s daughter Claudia has been portrayed by Tanja Raunig since 2011. Before that she played Sarah Tkotsch, who had to give up her role due to other commitments.
Eisner’s daughter Claudia, the Viennese loner’s only blood relative, so to speak, is a recurring character in the series, but does not appear in every Vienna “crime scene”.
Who is Harald Krassnitzer?
Harald Krassnitzer could be flattered by the fact that he is allowed to celebrate his 60th birthday in the current case, because in reality he is already 63 years old. In 2009, Krassnitzer married the German actress Ann-Kathrin Kramer, with whom he has been together since 1999. The couple, who live alternately in Wuppertal and Austria, have no children, but Krassnitzer helped raise Kramer’s son (by Jan Josef Liefers), born in 1997.
The actor comes from Grödig near Salzburg and from a humble background. In an interview with teleschau, he spoke modestly about his 25th anniversary: ”Because of my background or my career, it was never written anywhere that I would have a certain career.”
By the way, he doesn’t want to celebrate his 25th anniversary because the man doesn’t like melancholic retrospectives and time markers. In the same interview he reveals: “I don’t even celebrate my own birthday – and as an actor I prefer to live in the present.”
How long do Eisner and Fellner want to continue investigating?
Harald Krassnitzer is 63, Adele Neuhauser is 65 years old. Over-60 investigators are currently stopping everywhere at the “crime scene”: Axel Milberg (67) will stop in Kiel in 2025. The duo Udo Wachtveitl (65) and Miroslav Nemec (69) want to end their long careers in Munich in 2026. There is currently no final in sight for the Eisner/Fellner duo. However, Harald Krassnitzer only ever makes short-term contracts with the producing ORF – usually for two to three films for the coming year.
“We have agreed on three films for this year, and we are currently talking about next year,” says Harald Krassnitzer about the current “Tatort” situation in Vienna. And continues: “At my age, you think from year to year and generally in smaller cycles. But that doesn’t mean that I enjoy work or life any less. The opposite is the case.”
What exactly is going on with the Viennese “crime scene”?
The next case for Eisner and Fellner is likely to be called “Hurenkind”, unless this working title is changed. In the film, an aspiring Viennese rapper is found dead. The area around him is teeming with suspects. Was it his label owner who was about to lose his driving force?
The next Viennese “crime scene” will probably only run after the summer break in 2024, but later this year. Nothing is currently known about new filming for the next case, which will probably not be shown until 2025.
