NEW YORK – La Louisiana it did not abolish forced labor by a large majority. Yes: in the course of a referendum held on Tuesday, in conjunction with the Midterm elections, as many as 60 percent of the voters of the former slave state voted against amendment 7 of the Constitution which would have banned without exception the one that in prisons it is still legally called “slavery and involuntary servitude”.

There was an issue with the wording of the amendment. The bill author, a n African American male, requested that voters oppose his constitutional amendment so he can file another bill to write the wording correctly. This article is misleading.
