Volvo’s FH truck range is growing and enriching with the arrival of the innovative FH Aero. Featuring an aerodynamic design and cutting-edge features, the FH Aero offers a superior level of energy efficiency, and is available in four versions including bio-fuel and the award-winning electric version.
The new Aero truck models will be gradually launched on the markets during 2024-2025 in four versions: FH Aero, FH Aero Electric, FH Aero gas-powered and FH16 Aero. The front of the cab of the Volvo FH Aero has been lengthened by 24 centimeters compared to the normal Volvo FH.
This modification was instrumental in creating a more aerodynamic cabin. The improved aerodynamics not only reduce fuel consumption, but also enable better stability in windy conditions.
The FH Electric also benefits from the improved aerodynamics thanks to the connected surfaces. This allows for greater regeneration of energy to be fed back into the battery during braking or downhill phases, ready for use if necessary in subsequent acceleration or uphill phases.
The new and advanced Camera Monitor System contributes significantly to both aerodynamics and safety. This new solution, which replaces traditional exterior mirrors, opens the driver’s field of vision, improving the safety of the driver himself and surrounding road users.
Additional strengths, features and benefits of the new Volvo FH Aero include the following elements. Volvo’s I-See technology, fine-tuned to save energy and carbon emissions, uses a cloud-based topographic map to optimize driving and allow you to spend more time in cruise control mode, saving energy and resulting in a more relaxed drive.
Upgraded brakes with Volvo’s patented drag-free disc brakes improve braking ability while reducing energy consumption and emissions. Improved intuitive infotainment system, which can be customized to your personal needs.
Improved audio system, available with six high-quality premium speakers, a new power amplifier and a subwoofer that add enormous power to the sound experience. A new integrated navigation system is offered, with improved maps adapted to the specific needs of trucks, while automatic map updates enable efficient delivery of goods.
Interior upgrades also include a built-in microwave and USB-C electrical outlets. Volvo Trucks’ My Business Apps offering has been introduced in other markets. It is a subscription service that allows customers to download company apps from different suppliers and use them on the side display of the truck, obtaining concrete benefits in terms of operation and daily use of the truck.
And the new Tire Monitoring Service gives fleet operators a complete view of the truck and trailer through Volvo Connect, reducing the risk of cost and disruption related to tire problems.
