The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) of the Central Bank (BC) decided to reduce the basic interest rate by 0.5 percentage points this Wednesday (20). With this, the Selic becomes 10.75% per year.
At the request of CNNMichael Viriato, strategist at Casa do Investidor, carried out a survey showing how much an investment of R$1,000 yields with the new rate.
The numbers show that savings continue to have the lowest return, both in the short and long term: in six months, the investment reaches R$1,037.16 and, in 30 months — two and a half years —, R$1,200. 13.
The best option is in CDBs from medium-sized banks, considering an average remuneration that reaches 110% of the CDI.
In this case, the same R$1,000 will rise to R$1,044.41 in six months and, in 30 months, it will be worth R$1,267.84.
The list presents the gains in percentages and in reais from savings, Tesouro Direto (considered the post-fixed security, the Treasury Selic), CDBs and DI funds, which follow the CDI and the Selic rate.
The accounts already consider net income, that is, deducted from the income tax that is levied on the gains. Only savings are tax free.
The simulation considers an administration fee of 0.50% for DI funds and 0.2% for Treasury Selic, although the charge varies between funds and brokers.
