Motorsport is becoming more and more electric. And the most successful car in the world in the Rally2 category, the Škoda Fabia, also comes in a lithium-ion version. Škoda Motorsport has developed the electric rally Fabia together with Kreisel Electric, supplier of the hybrid technology that will become mandatory for the World Rally Championship (WRC) from next season. The basis is that of the Fabia Rally2 evo, with some modifications to the chassis to accommodate the electric powertrain.
The performances on paper are really interesting: the maximum power is 260 kW and the maximum torque of 600 Nm, while the 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine of the Rally2 evo delivers 214 kW and 425 Nm. The first tests were developed with trim from asphalt but soon they will also be carried out on dirt and during competitions.
