VALDOBBIADENE. “Almost two years after the birth of this association, we are all gathered here to officially give it a house rich in history and art, a symbolic place that well represents the exceptional nature of these hills”. He said this on Wednesday 8 September Marina Montedoro, president of the association for the heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, inaugurating the headquarters of the institution inside “Villa dei Cedri”.

The president of the Veneto Region participated in the cutting of the ribbon, Luca Zaia, and the mayor of Valdobbiadene, Luciano Fregonese.

“These are not easy years – added Montedoro – in which we can continue to work to enhance and promote this heritage which, as an association, we have the honor and the burden of protecting”. Zaia, for his part, highlighted how “the opening of the new headquarters is one of the signs that underline how, in favor of the Unesco site, we have continued to work even in these two years, now, of the pandemic. The projects followed in this villa will offer us the emotions we need ».

The mayor then recalled that in the last four years the villa has been the subject of several redevelopment and restoration interventions, through funds from the Municipality, contributions from the cellars of Valdobbiadene, the Gal Altamarca development agency and the Ville Venete regional institute, for investments. totals that exceed 2.5 million euros “.

Villa dei Cedri, an Art Nouveau building surrounded by a park built in 1888. The building is home to exhibitions, conferences and various kinds of initiatives, including the “Goblets of Stars” exhibition curated by the Città del Vino association.
