CONEGLIANO. The thieves disabled the video surveillance camera and broke into the front door, trying to rummage around the house in broad daylight. The blitz occurred in via Martiri della Libertà, in the stadium area, where a former candidate city councilor, Luisella Grillo, lives together with her husband Romeo.

The couple feels targeted. They have already suffered other thefts in the six years that they live there. They had been stolen from clothing to food, but also the earphones used by the husband for hearing, hearing aids worth thousands of euros. On Wednesday, around noon, the criminals did not take away anything valuable because they did not have time to turn the house upside down, probably because they were disturbed by the couple’s return for lunch. “We found the door broken, the camera we have did not work, as if it had been deactivated,” says Luisella Grillo, who in 2017 was nominated for the municipal council with the group “Plan for Conegliano”.

“We have made various reports to the police for similar episodes in the past – he explains -. I also notified the mayor about yesterday’s episode. I’m not expecting an immediate answer, but we want to report that they are around fools in the area. In the past, we had also found syringes here on the small street next door. The police advised us to report if we see strangers. ‘

The couple feels anxious, in the past other intrusions had occurred at all hours. “They also entered the house with us other times in recent years, even my earphones had been stolen – adds her husband -. Once we had even stolen our documents, we didn’t even understand why, for what purpose ».
