Bills, the artisans’ association: 13 billion lire for businesses in the first quarter

by admin

The expensive bill will inflict a memorable sting on the artisans. According to the association of artisans (Cgia) “with increases that in some cases even reach 400 percent, the energy-intensive sectors are more at risk than the others”. In particular, as regards the consumption of gas, the CGIA points out “the difficulties” that are affecting the companies of glass, ceramics, cement, plastics, brick production, heavy mechanics, food, chemistry and others. As regards electricity, on the other hand, steel mills / foundries, food, commerce (shops, shops, shopping centers, etc.), hotels, bars-restaurants, other services (cinemas, theaters, discos) risk blackouts. , laundries, etc.). The difficulties, says the CGIA Research Office, “affect many companies and consequently also many production districts which are the engine of the country’s economy and exports”. According to the association, the companies that are in the greatest difficulty are: Cartario di Lucca-Capannori; Plastics of Treviso, Vicenza and Padua; Metalli of Brescia-Lumezzane; Low metalworker from Mantua; Metalworker of Lecco; Sassuolo tiles; Termomeccanica Padua; Murano’s glass. In the first quarter of this year, “it is estimated that companies will be required to pay 14.7 billion euros more for electricity and gas than in 2019 (pre-pandemic year). By removing from this amount 1.7 billion of mitigation measures introduced by the Government in recent weeks, companies will have to bear an extra cost of 13 billion: a real sting ». This was underlined by the CGIA of Mestre which defines the next intervention announced by the government as “still insufficient”.

Trucks, fishing boats and farmers
Even Tir, fishing boats and farmers, again underlines the CGIA, «are at their last resort. What worries the world of work is not only the increase in the price of electricity and gas, but also that of fuels. Many sectors, therefore, risk having to stop: road transport, fishing and agriculture have already expressed great disappointment at the lack of government intervention ”. For the CGIA, therefore, the “far-reaching intervention to calm the prices of bills for households, businesses and public administrations” announced by Prime Minister Mario Draghi, is still “completely insufficient to mitigate the increases that, especially businesses , they will suffer in these first 3 months of the year ». «We all understood – concludes the association – that in the medium term we will have to reduce dependence on foreign countries, increase the production of Italian gas and continue on the path of investments in renewable sources. Businesses, however, need measures capable of immediately calming the expensive bills: the 5-7 billion assumed these days are not enough; therefore we have no alternative. Or we save the companies, recovering the resources through a new budget variance, otherwise many will be destined to close or, at best, to drastically reduce the workforce ».
