Huawei Pocket 2 released: the first triple telephoto, two-way Beidou satellite message foldable
Kuai Technology reported on February 22 that Huawei has officially released its new small folding device, the Huawei Pocket 2, starting from 7499 yuan. The device continues the “pearl double ring” design of the previous model and is available in four colors: Tahitian Grey, Rococo White, Taro Purple, and Elegant Black.
Inspired by Tahitian black pearls, the “Tahiti Gray” color design is said to be unique for each device. Huawei has also collaborated with high-end designer Iris van Herpen to create an art customized version of the Pocket 2.
Addressing the crease issue commonly associated with foldable phones, Huawei Pocket 2 features the industry’s first Xuanwu water drop hinge. The device’s screen remains flat even after long-term use, thanks to the double-arm lever gear that makes opening and closing easy.
In terms of imaging capabilities, the Huawei Pocket 2 boasts the industry’s first full-focus XMAGE quad camera, with a 50-megapixel super-sensing main camera, an ultra-wide-angle macro lens, and a 3x optical zoom telephoto. It is also the first small foldable phone to support 3x zoom. Additionally, the device is equipped with a second-generation hyperspectral camera that, combined with an AI fusion sensing algorithm, can accurately detect ultraviolet rays for scientific skincare purposes.
Notably, the Huawei Pocket 2 supports super Lingxi communication and is the first small foldable phone to support two-way Beidou satellite messages. It also offers dual super fast charging, with support for 66W wired fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging.
The Huawei Pocket 2 is priced at 7,499 yuan for the 12GB+256GB variant, 7,999 yuan for the 12GB+512GB variant, and 8,999 yuan for the 12GB+1TB variant. Pre-orders begin at 18:08 on February 22, with the official launch set for 10:08 on March 1.
