Tesla can be bought with Bitcoins. Elon Musk announced it via Twitter. That of the co-founder of the Californian brand is not only a marketing move but a strategic one: the entrepreneur had recently criticized traditional payment methods, stating that these “give negative interests, only a fool would not look elsewhere”. While Musk is a broad supporter of the cryptocurrency world, Tesla will only accept Bitcoin for now. Any other type of payment, such as Ethereum, once sent may not be refunded to users, therefore lost.
In February of this year, Tesla bought $ 1.5 billion in Bitcoin, again increasing interest in the digital currency. Currently, the value of a single “coin” fluctuates between 45,000 and 50,000 dollars. By the end of the year, Tesla is expected to allow all customers in the world to send payments through the wallet in Bitcoin to cover the total price of the chosen vehicle. At the current price, an American investor could buy a Model 3 Performance with around 0.93 Bitcoin or a Model S Plaid + with 2.5 Bitcoin.
