ROME – After the numerous and repeated stop and go, due to the problems related to the management of the Coronavirus pandemic and the frequent lockdown periods that have slowed down the mobility of Italians, reservations for long-term rental finally confirm a growth trend in phase of consolidation during the month of July. In particular, the request for the rental of electric and hybrid cars stands out, which in June accounted for 37.5% of the total bookings, with electric or hybrid SUVs accounting for 15% of requests.
The growing focus on new engines was confirmed in July with 45% of long-term rental bookings involving electric or hybrid cars. The most popular of the hybrids, according to the research, was the Mini Countryman. In the first six months of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, there is also an expansion of the number of consumers with an increase in the presence of young people and women and users who are increasingly intrigued by the new mobility formulas.
In particular, with regard to the Hurry! there is an increase in female users and young people between the ages of 18 and 24 interested in the new mobility formula represented by the flexible “popmove” system, a new concept which due to its characteristics is starting to attract curiosity of customer groups so far less interested in medium-long term rental.
