“Aaron can play Bond, the choice is his,” a source told The Sun. “The offer is on the table, Eon Productions (the company behind the franchise, ed.) is only waiting for his signature. Aaron is expected to sign that contract in the coming days and they can begin preparing for a full-scale official announcement.” Eon Productions is currently working on a script for a new Bond film.

Taylor-Johnson has been asked in the past about the gossip that he would play Bond. “I find it charming and nice that people see me in that role,” he said at the time. “I consider it a great compliment.”

Daniel Craig played the main character in the last five Bond films. Previously, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan also donned the iconic character’s tuxedo.

Famous

Taylor-Johnson became famous for his roles in the films Kick-ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron, but has been acting from an early age: he was just six when he appeared on stage in a Macbeth production in London. At the age of thirteen he played his first film role: the young Charlie Chaplin in Shanghai Knights, opposite Jackie Chan.

His big break came at the age of eighteen, when he was cast in the role of John Lennon in the biopic Nowhere boy. He did not disappoint. “Surprisingly good actor,” wrote The Guardian. “Subtly played,” said Rolling Stone.

The British tabloids also wrote extensively about Taylor-Johnson, although the focus was mainly on his relationship with Sam Taylor-Wood, the 23-year-older director of Nowhere Boy. “Love is blind,” the couple shrugged. The couple has since had two daughters.
