Shakira’s ‘revenge’ stage against Gerard Piqué in her songs comes to an end
Shakira recently opened up about her decision to no longer write songs about her ex-partner, Gerard Piqué, after finishing her ‘revenge’ stage through her music. Her compositions post-separation have not only served as a form of relief for the Colombian singer but have also been successful hits, further boosting her fortune.
In a recent analysis by the Spanish press, it was revealed that Shakira’s earnings from her first songs targeting Piqué, known as the ‘revenge triad’, amounted to a significant sum. The triad includes popular tracks such as ‘Te Felicito’ with Rauw Alejandro and ‘Monotonía’ with Ozuna, which resonated strongly with fans following the announcement of the former couple’s split.
Although Shakira has since released new songs addressing her relationship with Piqué, including ‘Última’ from her album Las mujeres ya no cry, it was the initial three songs that reportedly brought in over 20 million dollars to her bank account. With this, the singer-songwriter marks the end of an era and looks toward new creative endeavors.
