The Beijing Premiere of the Drama “Spring Dawn on Su Di” to Open the “Second Scene” of the Six-City Linkage

China News Service, Beijing, March 26 (Reporter Ying Ni) The National Theater Theater’s original play “Spring Dawn on Su Di” will premiere in Beijing and will be performed for 9 consecutive performances at the National Theater Theater from April 5 to 14. Xin Baiqing, an outstanding actor from the China National Theater, plays the lead role of Su Dongpo, a famous scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty. The play tells the story of the talented and ups and downs legendary life of Su Dongpo, the great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty. It combines tragic and happy stories with interesting stories, and expresses drama in a harmonious and harmonious way.

Tian Qinxin, director of the National Theater of China, who is also the screenwriter and director of “Spring Dawn on Su Di”, shared at the press conference on the 25th that the play creates a stage space that is paradoxical, real, and illusory, showcasing the character, atmosphere, and charm of the “Song Dynasty” during the peak of Chinese traditional culture. By blending realism and freehand brushwork, tradition and contemporary elements, the play presents a magnificent picture of the Northern Song Dynasty, allowing the millennium-old Song Dynasty rhyme to resonate in the modern era.

Xin Baiqing, known as the “Chosen Ancient”, expressed his deep connection to the character of Su Dongpo, stating that playing him has allowed him to understand Su Dongpo on a deeper level. He hopes to convey Mr. Su Dongpo’s elegance, passion, and humor to the audience through his performance.

The play features Su Qing, an outstanding actor from the National Theater of China, playing the role of Wang Fu, Su Dongpo’s wife. Su Qing’s portrayal of the character has brought forth the emotions and love of the girl who left Su Dongpo at a young age, showcasing the beauty of the Northern Song Dynasty.

“Spring Dawn on Su Di” is an invited play at the 18th China Theater Festival and has already received acclaim, winning the “Excellent Play Award”. The premiere in Beijing will also mark the launch of the “second scene”, where six cities including Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Wuzhen will have the opportunity to watch the performance simultaneously through real-time broadcast at authorized theaters. This groundbreaking method of simultaneous viewing using “multi-camera, multi-scenery, multi-angle” film and television techniques is a first in the history of national drama performance broadcasting.

Furthermore, the National Theater of China’s “Guohua Shuzhi Culture Company” has partnered with Xixi Films to develop the first Mandarin micro-short drama project titled “Days of Working with Su Dongpo”, paving the way for more online derivatives and a new era of drama broadcasting.
