An HIV vaccine? It is not a dream, this time we are really at a turning point

Since the 1980s, attempts have been made to develop – unsuccessfully – a vaccine against the HIV virus. Today this milestone is much closer thanks to a new approach, based on mRNA technology but more sophisticated than current Covid vaccines, which has shown unprecedented results in monkeys (an 80% reduction in the risk of infection in vaccinated subjects).
