Regional PD Group Begins Collection of Signatures for Healthcare Initiative in Lombardy

The regional PD group in Lombardy has started collecting signatures for a popular initiative bill that aims to bring radical changes to the healthcare system in the region. Matteo Piloni, a representative of the group, stated that the goal is to make healthcare fairer for everyone, as healthcare is a right in Lombardy as well.

The initiative kicked off in Crema, with a banquet set up at the market in via Verdi on Saturday, April 6. Piloni announced that they will be continuing their efforts on Sunday, April 7, with stands set up in Pianengo on via Roma and in Romanengo at piazza Gramsci from 9am to 12pm.

The group plans to set up a stand in front of the Crema hospital on Friday, April 12, starting at 3pm. Regional councilors from the Democratic Party will also be in attendance to support the initiative.

The project aims to establish key principles for the regional healthcare system, including universality, the importance of prevention, prioritizing local services, and ensuring that public healthcare takes precedence over private providers. The group believes that private services should only be used as a last resort, as healthcare should always prioritize the public interest.
