Donini: “After almost 3 months from launch, data monitoring confirms the good functioning of the structures. Many young doctors: 60% are under 35 years old”
82% of accesses occur during the day, especially (69% of cases) by people between 18 and 64 years old. Orthopedic, gastrointestinal problems and minor ailments are the main reasons why people go to CAU

The reasons for access more frequent (54%) they are always linked to orthopedic, gastrointestinal problems and minor ailmentsa sign that in the vast majority of cases people turn to CAU precisely for those low complexity emergencies which is why the Region thought of them. Continues to be daytime time the one with the highest turnout: 82% of accesses take place between 8am and 8pm, in 69% of cases by people among the 18 to 64 years old.

“Next week the number of CAUs open throughout the territory will rise to 30 – comments the councilor for health policies, Raffaele Donini-. And almost three months after its launch, the Region’s monitoring continues to give us positive data in all aspects: the structures are well organised, work and are used appropriately. And there are many young doctors, under 35 years old, who work in the CAU, another fact we are happy about. We say thank you to them, to all the staff but also to the citizens, who show that they understand when it is better to go to the assistance and emergency centers rather than the emergency room”.
In summary, from November 1st to January 21st in the 24 monitored CAUs the numbers they are: 32,674 accesses (44,323 also considering the Ferrara CAU), 82% of which during daytime (including the 4 centers in the Ferrara area and those in Imola and Correggio open only during the day); on average 19 accesses per day in the morning (from 8am to 2pm) and 16 in the afternoon (from 2pm to 8pm); on the other hand, daily access during night time (from 8pm to 8am) varies from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 33. 8 out of 10 patients (exactly 84%) sent to the GP at the end of the course, therefore with assistance and care provided on site; waiting times that continue to fall: 45 minutes in the last week of monitoring, with maximum peaks of 1 hour and 41 minutes; cases mostly (54%) orthopaedic, gastro-intestinal and related to minor disorders; accesses mostly (69%) carried out by people between 18 and 64 years old.
