Few Applicants Choose Zamora Care Complex for Residency Training in Medicine: ‘The Ugly Duckling’ of the MIR

In recent days, the Zamora Care Complex has welcomed several individuals who have selected it for their medical training and residency. However, the Zamora Family and Community Medicine program is struggling to fill its spots, with most of them remaining vacant just three days before the application deadline. Despite this, there is still hope as 3,500 candidates have until Friday to choose Zamora for their medical education.

As of now, only one applicant has chosen the Zamora Care Complex for Family and Community Medicine, making it the first selection for that specialty. The rest of the positions in this program remain unfilled, with only one out of the 14 spots being occupied.

On the other hand, hospital specialty positions in Zamora have been fully covered, including internal medicine, psychiatry, intensive medicine, radiodiagnosis, anesthesiology and resuscitation, obstetrics and gynecology, and orthopedic surgery and traumatology.

The application deadline for medical placements in Zamora closes on Friday, April 19, leaving the province eager to attract new talent to meet the healthcare needs of the region.
