Primarily the gynecological area. But not only. There are also 19 anesthetists missing. As well as pulmonologists and gastroenterologists. And the emergency rooms are also in trouble. After almost two and a half years of super-work due to Covid, however, the staff are exhausted. And we can’t think of continuing to ask for overtime. The recalendarization has already begun: the numbers are progressively decreasing. “Now we are pushing hard above all on the recovery of specialist visits before the summer slowdown,” says Benazzi.
THE NUMBERS
The plan for the elimination of waiting lists has taken into account the execution of an average of more than 4,200 health services per month between now and the end of the year. But it is no coincidence that the greatest effort will be seen between September, October, November and December. Only in the field of radiology did we start from the need to recover 4,780 appointments. Among the sectors most in difficulty there is inevitably that of Pneumology, in recent months constantly at the forefront of the Covid epidemic. THE ADMISSIONS
