“I defeated Moyamoya’s disease, now I’m running for life and to help others”

There is courage and effort in running. A sport made up of legs, breath and endurance, but also of generosity, as told by Valentina Magnabosco, 41, originally from Asiago: “For me this discipline has become the way to be reborn after having faced Moyamoya’s disease”.

He demonstrated this in recent days by engaging in a special undertaking: a relay from Zané, in the province of Vicenza, to Scanzorosciate, about two hundred and thirty kilometers, completed alternately in the sun, rain and hail, with a group of a twenty athletes of the Asd Macuri Team of Schio, of which he has been a member for two years. “A gesture of thanks and awareness – explains Valentina, director of the Marostica branch of Banca Intesa -, an act of love and a strong testimony, dedicated to those who are struggling against the same pathology and to those who are no longer there”. Moyamoya is a rare syndrome in which the blood vessels of the brain appear as “clouds of smoke”: this is the meaning of the name in Japanese.
