“Only one out of three incoming cases is really from the emergency room”: the president of the Tuscan Society of Emergency-Urgency Medicine speaks

“To solve the shortage of personnel in the emergency room and ambulance, we need suitable paths for those who have worked for years in this sector, with career improvements. Today, flight is an evident phenomenon and a global review is needed”. Simeu Toscana, the Italian society of emergency-urgency medicine, launches the appeal and asks for the reform of the sector to be brought back to the fore: “The difficulties are many – explains the regional president, Marcello Pastorelli – the first is the scarcity of personal: the only professional outlet after specialization is the emergency room, where the shifts are also very heavy, but in this way it also becomes difficult to progress in the career “.
