The “MOTOPINGUINO” OF MODENA DONATES A STATISTICAL SCALE TO THE PEDIATRICS

by admin

Thanks to the generous donation of Moto club “Motopinguino” of Modena – which took shape on Saturday 23 March during an event that took place at the Cona hospital – the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology clinics of the Pediatrics Operating Unit, directed by Professor Agnese Suppiej, have equipped themselves with a new one latest generation precision scale and statimeter (also used to measure a person’s height)..

This tool allows staff to monitor the growth and development of young patients even more accurately, significantly improving the quality of care we are able to offer.

The activity of the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology Clinics has recorded notable growth in the last 12 months. It was possible to increase the availability of outpatient visits by 50%, guaranteeing at least 10 appointments per week, accessible both to patients referred by local paediatricians, and to children and adolescents who come from other services within Paediatrics (the Oncohaematological DH, Pediatric Neurology , Gastroenterology and Pediatric Nephrology).

The Endocrinology and Diabetology Clinic is managed by doctors Annagiulia Lambertini and Alessandra Lumaca and deals with a wide range of conditions, including diabetes (type 1 and type 2), which in our province has seen a doubling of cases in course of 2023, growth disorders, puberty disorders (early or delayed puberty), thyroid pathology, calcium and bone metabolism disorders, obesity and metabolic syndrome.

“This donation – comments Professor Suppiej – combined with the growth of our activities, it strengthens our commitment to the health and well-being of children and adolescents”.

The instrument was donated by “Motopinguino” of Modena, in collaboration with the Giulia Association, the “Casco Matto” motoclub of Ferrara and the Desmo Owners Club of Borgo Panigale. The centaurs, together with the “Guilia” volunteers, delivered the device together with the chocolate eggs, during the 13th edition of “Easter for a child”.
