The “World Tourism Cities Development Report 2020″ comprehensively introduces and summarizes the development status of the world’s major tourist cities in 2020, and puts forward the development goals and action plans of the world’s tourism cities in the future, and formulates the “Future Development Agenda for World Tourism Cities (2021-2030). )” in order to promote and guide the sustainable development of world tourism cities.

The report pointed out that in 2020, the level of tourism development in world tourism cities will drop sharply, but the gap in regional development decline is not large, and there is a functional gap in individual development. At the same time, this part of the digital presentation shows the results of ten individual evaluations. The relatively positive indicators in 2020 include the recovery of more than 60% of global domestic tourist arrivals, the small decline in the number of international conferences held in global node cities, and the occurrence of online tourism in node cities. The rate has not dropped but increased, and the safety prevention and control measures of global node tourism cities have been significantly strengthened. It is worth mentioning that in the two individual evaluation results of the report, “The list of top 20 cities for domestic tourist visits in 2020” and “The list of top 20 cities for urban tourism GDP in 2020”, China’s Shanghai and Beijing both occupy In the top two, the data performance is significantly ahead of other cities in other countries.

Zurab Boroli Kashvili, Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization: At present, with the advancement of global vaccination, many countries have opened their doors, a large number of tourism industry practitioners have returned to work, and tourists’ confidence is gradually restored. , The domestic tourism of many countries is thriving, and China is one of them. However, the crisis has not been lifted, and restrictions on tourism and lack of coordination of tourism regulations remain the main obstacles to global recovery. The world will become active again, and we need to prepare for it.
