In a joint operation between the SIJIN and the National Army, 50 kilos of marijuana were seized hidden in metal containers in a truck that was traveling on the roads of the department of Huila.
The procedure also resulted in the capture of a couple who were traveling in the cargo vehicle, as well as its immobilization.
The incident took place at an information and control post on the Pitalito-Mocoa roadwhere the authorities intercepted the turbo truck that was destined for the department of Putumayo. When inspecting the vehicle, the uniformed officers discovered three metal bins that hid 60 packages of cripy-type marijuana inside.which were valued at approximately 20 million pesos.

According to investigations, the final destination of the drugs would be the town of La Hormiga, in Putumayo, from where it would possibly be taken out of the country. Given this situation, the captured couple, originally from the municipality of San Agustín, was placed at the disposal of the competent authorities as presumed responsible for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics.
With the operational result, an average of 25,000 doses were removed from circulation, which if marketed would triple the acquisition value and affect the public health of children and young people.
“The commitment of the soldiers of the National Army is permanent, always alert to face different threats, and sure of counting on the solidarity of the people of Huila,” stated the Army.
