Accident on the motorway between Scarmagno and San Giorgio Canavese, no injuries

SCARMAGNO. Motorway accident on the A5 towards Turin, at the height between Scarmagno and San Giorgio Canavese. The incident took place inside the Pietra Grossa tunnel. The articulated lorry hit the concrete pillars and closed like a “wallet”, with fuel and material dispersion. Fortunately, the driver of the crashed heavy vehicle did not do anything. The fire brigade of Ivrea, the traffic police of Turin and the Blue Cross of Caluso intervened on the spot. While waiting for the intervention of the police and rescue workers to end, the road, after having been closed with a mandatory exit in Scarmagno, was reopened with the passage in the overtaking lane at reduced speed, in the presence of a car for the washing of the road surface.
