A 22-year-old had taken the wrong path and was forced to stop so as not to risk falling
SOVERZENE. An American who was stranded on a ledge of Mount Toc, above Longarone, was rescued during the night. The 22-year-old from Aviano (Pordenone) left Provagna in the early afternoon and, when he started the descent, he relied on google maps, which however took him over dangerous rock jumps. The man was forced to stop and sound the alarm, so as not to risk falling. A team of the Longarone Alpine Rescue identified him, thanks to the voice and the light signals, and a technician managed to reach him. After being insured, the hiker was accompanied to the valley in the rain and in the midst of dense vegetation. Operations ended at 1.45 am.
